A study visa is granted to study selected bachelor’s, master’s and Ph.D programs. Students also have an opportunity to work for up to 40 hours a fortnight. However, the student applicant must continue to balance the study and work commitments even though there is flexibility in the number of hours to work, and must ensure to:
- Maintain their course enrolment
- Ensure satisfactory course attendance, and
- Students may be in breach of their visa conditions if they cancel their
- Enrolment or don’t attend the classes or fail to make academic progress.
To obtain a visa, student must be enrolled in a course of study in Australia, hold Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), and must have a welfare arrangement, if the student is below 18 years of age. With this class of visa, a student can also bring family members to Australia. The duration of the visa is valid for up to 5 years. This category of visa is classified as Subclass 500
Tourist Visa
To enjoy picturesque locations in Australia, to enjoy holidays or to meet family members or friends or relatives, a travel visa is required. The duration of the visa ranges from 3 months to 12 months, depending on your preferred duration of stay. This category of visa is known as Subclass 600.
Business visitor Visa
A business visa is required to explore business opportunities or to negotiate contracts or to take part in business conferences or to visit/take part in business fairs. The duration of the visa is valid for 3 months. This category of the visa is also known as Subclass 600.
Temporary Work Visa
A temporary work visa is a short-term visa granted to take part in a highly specialized skills for non-ongoing work in Australia in a specified domain. The duration of the visa is valid for 3 months to 6 months. This category of visa is classified as Subclass 400.
