For the Australian Permanent Residency (PR) process, can I get 65 points? The extension of the visa depends on its nature. A visitor visa cannot be extended, and an application has to be filed for a fresh visa, on its expiry. A student visa can be extended. A permanent residency (PR) visa doesn’t need an extension, as it has an indefinite validity.
